Garrett Prejean
Classes at the Elm Theatre Studio will be taught by Garrett Prejean who lived and worked as an actor in Chicago from 2000-2010. Garrett was born and raised in North Baton Rouge (NBR), La. Garrett is a graduate of Northwestern State University and also a graduate of The Conservatory Program and the Acting Program at The Second City Training Center in Chicago. Garrett has also studied Acting with Darrell W. Cox and Erica Daniels from Profiles and Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago as well as Viewpoints with Michael Patrick Thorton from The Gift Theatre and Steppenwolf in Chicago. Garrett was a founding member and the Artistic Director of EP Theater in Chicago. There he worked to develop new plays with Chicago playwrights as well as New York and Los Angeles. Garrett most recently taught Acting 1 classes and Audition classes at the Second City Training Center in Chicago. He was also known as the “Resume Doctor” for The Second City Training Center, assisting students in finding opportunity’s in the Art/Theatre industry. He was last seen in The Elm Theatre’s production and Big Easy nominated “Orange Flower” Water by Craig Wright and The Elm Theatre’s production “Blackbird”, by Adam Rapp which was nominated for 4 Big Easy’s including Best Actor in a Drama. Garrett’s other theatre credits include: “Avenue A” in the highly recommend show (Chicago Tribune, TimeOut Chicago), by David Steen at EP Theater. Other EP Theater credits include, “Grey” co-writer (Recommend Windy City Times), “Life Support”, “La Belle Vito”, and the “Woods”. “Automobile Graveyard”, “Shoemakers”, “The Flies” at the Trapdoor Theatre. “True Crimes”, “The Vortex”, and “Creeps” at Boxer Rebellion Theatre. “The Nebraska Project” and “I Saw You’s” at Bruised Orange Theatre. “The Gurney”, Secret Life Theatre.
Joe Vuci, Jr.
Joe assists the Elm Theatre with the business side of things. He was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA and graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University. His experience falls within the event industry in and around the Gulf Coast Area. He has over ten years experience managing business and social events, working in corporate and independent settings.
Joe is president of UpperLine Event Productions, LLC and currently supplies the Television/Movie Industry with backdrops, red carpet, velvet rope etc. His latest work can be seen in the movie “The Open Road” starring Jeff Bridges and Justin Timberlake.
Emma Hill
Emma was raised in the town of Mendocino on the coast of northern California and studied theatre at the Interlochen Center for the Arts, Bard College and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. She has worked as an actor, director and stagehand. She moved to New Orleans in the summer of 2010 and has most recently worked with Aimee Hayes as assistant director on Southern Repertory’s production of Afterlife.
Becca Chapman
Becca, a local from St. Bernard Parish, is an actor as well as the Education Coordinator of the Elm Theatre company. She has worked and performed with several local theatre companies, some of which are: New Noise, Goat in the Road Productions, Neutral Ground Ensemble, New Orleans Fringe Festival, Southern Rep, and Le Petit. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BFA in Performance from the University of Southern Mississippi (May 2009). After her May 2009 graduation, she was an administrative intern at Southern Rep Theatre (June 09- April 2010). Outside the south, Becca was an acting apprentice at Berkshire Theatre Festival in Summer 2007 and studied abroad in London in Summer 2008. She is currently working on her Master of Arts in Teaching degree at the University of New Orleans and hopes to eventually start her own Theatre Education Program.
Chris Marroy
Chris Marroy graduated from The University of Southern Mississippi summa cum laude in 2010 with a B.F.A. in Performance. Since moving back to his ever-busy New Orleans, he has been breaking into the film and television scene, and has been seen on TNT along side Jason Lee in the NOLA-shot TV series, MEMPHIS BEAT (season 02/episode 07). He has had the pleasure of working with some great theatre companies in town including Southern Rep, The Stage Door Canteen at the National WWII Museum, JPAS, Actor’s Theatre of New Orleans…and of course The Elm Theatre. Chris is proud to be a member of The Elm Theatre where he plays his part as actor/graphic designer.
Jennifer Billot
Jennifer Billot, a New Orleans local, is excited to be a part of The Elm Theatre as the resident stage manager. She has stage managed throughout the city for several years and has had the opportunity to work with several companies such as Nola Project, InSideOut, Theatre 13, NOCCA, Southern Rep, Actor’s Theatre of New Orleans as well as The Elm Theatre on various productions. She worked for UNO Theatre & Music Box Office and The Bayou Playhouse as a box office manager. Though primarily a stage manager she has worked as a sound designer, charge artist, and yes even tried her hand at acting. In 2003 she received a regional ACTF award for excellence in stage management. In 2006 she graduated from the University of New Orleans with a BA in Film, Theatre and Communication Arts. Jenny has recently returned to UNO to pursue a MFA in directing. She hopes to eventually teach stage and production management in the city.
